Job Summary

A National Film Specialist is responsible for effectively sourcing and procuring custom and non-custom film and resin products. This is done in conjunction with buyers, plant management, & salespeople from different facilities.

Is an expert in the film/resin field as relates to cost drivers, works with a high degree of creativity and latitude.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identifies film/resin material sources to fit a wide range and non-custom applications.

  • Develops and maintains a relationship with sales and sales management of key suppliers and demonstrates the ability and willingness to translate that relationship into revenue and sustainable program business.

  • Sources and aids in the procurement and designs of custom and non-custom film products, that meet or exceed the quality, service and price requirements of the operations or customer requirements.

  • Provides current market levels and an accurate prediction for the future direction of the market.

  • Develops and maintains a clear understanding of the film suppliers' processes and products produced at the supplier's facility.

  • Gains and maintains an understanding of the manufacturing capabilities, customers, products, sales programs, competitors, and service needs.

  • Is knowledgeable in gauge reduction, width reduction and material substitutions as relates to the custom and non-custom markets.

  • Has working knowledge of line speed, scrap rates and operating efficiency of automated custom and non-custom film applications.   

  • Proactively offers relevant products to sales and plant management.

  • Helps develop and grow sales and margin by developing an effective working relationship with sales and management.

  • Prepares various reports as required.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in business or related discipline or equivalent industry experience is required.

  • Minimum 5 - 10 years of experience in application of custom and non-custom film applications.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook, and other business software.

  • Working knowledge of resin pricing both at manufacturing and customer pricing levels.

  • Working knowledge of film/resin market conditions and dynamics.

  • Working knowledge of film performance capabilities.
