Position: National Commercial Underwriter - Remote | Work From Home

Overview

Join a distinguished Title Insurance Company as a National Commercial Underwriter in the thriving Commercial Department. This role offers a unique opportunity for professionals who are dedicated to the Title Industry and are motivated to make a significant impact. Collaborating with our skilled Commercial Coordinators and operations team, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Address title underwriting and escrow inquiries swiftly from clients and title staff, ensuring seamless transactions.
  • Partner with the sales manager and sales team to cultivate client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Develop and participate in client-oriented presentations that address relevant industry topics.
  • Review and negotiate Indemnity and Escrow Funding Agreements, manage Re-insurance placements, and scrutinize transactional and organizational documents.
  • Work with various company offices to resolve legal and transactional matters on shared transactions.
  • Utilize the company's title production platform for effective commitment construction, policy production, and endorsement issuance, ensuring timely delivery to clients.
  • Monitor and prioritize tasks, delegating responsibilities to team members to maintain productivity.
  • Analyze surveys, draft responses to title objection letters, and demonstrate expertise in interpreting legal descriptions of real property.
  • Assist in training both current and future personnel in essential areas.
  • Collaborate with agency title counsel in underwriting and coordinating national transactions.
  • Order searches and liaise with local offices for necessary reports, missing documents, and surveys.
  • Uphold service and quality standards through interactions with both internal team members and clients.
  • Coordinate pro forma and final policies pre- and post-closing, as well as prepare settlement statements and disbursement requests.
  • Underwrite and facilitate the closing of commercial transactions, exhibiting flexibility in working hours when necessary.

Required Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial real estate title review and underwriting with a reputable national title insurer.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a thorough understanding of commercial title principles and relevant regulations.
  • Proven ability to adapt to and implement modern title production systems and technologies.
  • Track record of meeting deadlines and managing work under pressure with confidence.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a commitment to meeting commercial customer demands.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

Qualifications
