Job Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified Insurance Defense Attorney to join our distinguished national law firm, offering a fully remote work opportunity. This position is tailored for a professional with extensive experience in insurance defense, particularly in areas such as toxic torts, product liability, and commercial auto claims. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Represent clients in various insurance defense matters.
  • Provide expert legal counsel on complex liability issues.
  • Strategize and implement effective defense plans to protect client interests.
  • Negotiate settlements and work to resolve disputes favorably.
  • Conduct thorough research to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Draft, review, and modify legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Keep clients updated on case developments and advise on legal risks and strategies.
  • Stay informed on the latest laws, regulations, and trends in the insurance defense sector.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance defense with a focus on liability law.
  • A valid California state license to practice law.
  • Proven track record in successfully defending clients in insurance-related cases.
  • Strong negotiation, advocacy, and dispute resolution skills.
  • Excellent research and analytical abilities to interpret complex legal documents.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for conveying intricate legal concepts.
  • A high level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Capability to manage a high-volume caseload independently in a remote setting.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Over 8 years of First Chair experience in third-party insurance defense cases.
  • A solid foundation in General Liability, Product Liability, Commercial Auto Claims, and Toxic Tort.

Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • Current license to practice law in California.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance defense, especially in liability law.
  • Demonstrated success in defending clients in insurance litigation.
  • Strong negotiating and advocacy skills combined with high ethical standards.
