Senior Director of Finance and Accounting

About The Role

We are in search of a skilled and results-oriented Senior Director of Finance and Accounting to steer our finance and accounting functions. This remote position, based in Salt Lake City, UT, presents a unique opportunity to significantly influence our expanding organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute strategic financial plans that align with our organizational objectives, emphasizing sustainable growth, market development, and optimal product/channel alignment.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and long-term financial forecasting, while continuously assessing performance and pinpointing areas for enhancement.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses, ensuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, implementing strategies to safeguard assets and leverage market potential.
  • Collaborate with various teams on strategic initiatives and investment evaluations to propel business growth.
  • Act as the primary contact for our parent company on all ad hoc reporting, valuation, audit, and tax requests.
  • Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team, promoting professional development and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Direct the financial audit process to ensure compliance with legal, state, regulatory, and company policies.
  • Partner with external entities to guarantee timely and accurate state, federal, and international income tax filings, along with state and local sales tax/VAT filings.
  • Support sales operations, planning, and forecasting, as well as inventory and supply/demand planning processes as necessary.
  • Provide financial analysis to aid pricing decisions, strategic/scenario planning, and other business requirements.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with the parent company, ensuring effective communication regarding all financial matters.
  • Engage in strategic discussions with executives, offering insights on long-range economic and financial trends and their implications for future growth, sales, and market share.
  • Exemplify the company culture and values while effectively communicating with all organizational levels.
  • Incorporate social and environmental considerations into everyday decision-making, encouraging team members to do the same.
  • Advocate for company and employee initiatives reinforcing our commitment to social and environmental responsibilities.

About You

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, long-term business planning, and advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Experience with Prophix and NetSuite (ERP) is essential.
  • Industry experience in baby gear, soft goods, and hard goods is advantageous.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or have authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
