Job description

This role is ideal for individuals who are analytical, detail-oriented, and have a strong interest in financial planning and portfolio management. As a Budget & Portfolio Analyst, you will work closely with the finance and investment teams to ensure that budgets are managed efficiently and portfolios are performing optimally, ultimately supporting the firm’s financial health and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Analysis and Monitoring: Regularly analyze budget allocations and expenditures, ensuring alignment with the firm’s financial objectives and identifying areas for potential cost savings or reallocation.
  • Portfolio Performance Monitoring: Track and assess the performance of investment portfolios, providing insights and recommendations to senior analysts and portfolio managers to enhance returns and mitigate risks.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present detailed financial reports that summarize budgetary performance and portfolio outcomes, highlighting key metrics and trends for senior management.
  • Market Research: Conduct comprehensive research on financial markets, economic trends, and investment opportunities to support the development of strategic budget and portfolio management decisions.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with the finance, investment, and underwriting teams to align budgeting and portfolio strategies with the firm’s overall business objectives.
  • Support Project Management: Assist in the budgeting and financial tracking of key projects, ensuring that project expenditures are aligned with approved budgets and financial goals.


Required Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as financial modeling and data analysis. Familiarity with financial statements and budget management tools such as ATP, ITP, Powerpoint etc.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a meticulous attention to detail, capable of identifying trends and discrepancies in financial data.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to Work Under Pressure: Experience managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant Experience: Internship or prior experience in finance-related roles, particularly in budget management or portfolio analysis.
  • Knowledge of Financial Software: Experience with budget management or portfolio analysis software and Presentation tools such as ATP, ITP, Jira, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint.
  • Professional Certifications: Progress towards certifications such as CFA Level 1, Certified Financial Analyst, or equivalent qualifications will be considered an asset.
