Job description

Overview:

Kimley-Horn is looking for Engineering or Planning graduates to join our Oakland, CA office in 2025! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will work with our Multi-Modal Transportation team performing a variety of transportation-related planning and conceptual design tasks including transportation analyses, complete streets studies, mobility analyses, and transit analyses, and development of public outreach materials and strategies. 

 

  • Interest and ability to obtain P.E.,T.E. in the state of CA or become an AICP
  • Exposure to preparing technical materials such as transit analyses, traffic studies, parking studies, complete streets assessments, safety studies, multi-modal planning, site circulation and access studies, and other various transportation planning and design activities.
  • Demonstrated experience working on a team.
  • Proficiency in GIS and Excel
  • Exposure to Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Synchro/SimTraffic, Vistro, VISSIM, Sidra, AutoCAD, and/or other traffic and engineering software desired.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
Qualifications:
  • An ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) by Summer 2025 in one of the following majors:
    • Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
    • Engineering Technology
  • Or a Planning Degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program by Summer of 2025 in these majors:  
    • City and Regional Planning 
    • Urban Planning
    • Transportation Planning  
    • Or Other Related Major

 

Salary Range: $90,000 - 101,500
