Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Internal Audit Control Manager with extensive experience in mortgage servicing to join our dynamic team. This remote position plays an essential role in ensuring adherence to federal, state, and government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) regulations while supporting our unwavering commitment to quality control and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance regulatory compliance matrices, ensuring precision through a quarterly review process.
  • Offer compliance expertise during internal audits and special initiatives.
  • Assist audit teams in identifying relevant compliance coverage for designated audits.
  • Formulate testing protocols for regulatory requirements as necessary.
  • Evaluate regulatory audit findings and present actionable insights.
  • Remain updated on compliance developments by participating in pertinent meetings.
  • Conduct compliance training sessions for departmental personnel.
  • Contribute to the annual risk assessment and aid in executing the annual audit plan for specified areas.
  • Oversee audit engagements, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and industry best practices.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with business process owners and management teams.
  • Collaborate with audit colleagues to identify emerging control challenges and communicate them promptly.
  • Assist in the development of team members while continuously analyzing risk trends.
  • Support the design and implementation of automation tools to enhance the audit process.

Required Skills

  • Strong comprehension of compliance risk management principles and mortgage servicing operations.
  • Exceptional project management capabilities, adept at facilitating process enhancements.
  • Self-driven with robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication abilities, including the capacity to present complex issues effectively.
  • Proven aptitude for relationship-building, working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, sound decision-making capabilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio).

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a Master's degree and/or relevant certifications (such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CRCM, CAMS, or MBA) are preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of pertinent experience in internal audit and regulatory compliance, specifically in the mortgage servicing sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving process improvements.
