Job Overview

Join PostJobMatches By WorkStaff USA, a premier staffing agency renowned for matching exceptional talent with leading healthcare facilities nationwide. We are seeking three experienced Coding Specialists for our Health Information Management team, focusing on inpatient coding at a Facility IP Level II Trauma center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately assign ICD-10-CM diagnostic and procedure codes for clinical encounters in alignment with regulatory standards and CMS Official Guidelines.
  • Provide intermediate clinical inpatient support, collaborating with Health Information Management leadership to fulfill coding assignments across various discharge departments, such as Postpartum, Newborn, Cardiac ICU, and more.
  • Maintain compliance with coding policies and documentation guidelines set by The Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies.
  • Engage in the physician clarification process when documentation is incomplete or ambiguous to ensure accurate coding.
  • Contribute to performance improvement initiatives and consistently meet or exceed departmental productivity and quality standards.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of five years of inpatient coding experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in coding for acute care facilities, particularly at a Trauma Level II center, is preferred.
  • Current AAPC, AHIMA, or equivalent Certified Coding credential is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and compliance regulations.
  • Familiarity with CPT Assistant and HCPCS coding manuals is required.
  • Excellent analytical and collaborative communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must possess certification in Health Information Management or a related field.
  • Experience in specialty areas such as Recurring Wound Care or Inpatient Rehab is advantageous.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Base Salary: USD \(56,056 to \)78,478
  • Full-time position with comprehensive benefits
