Job Overview

Join us at Compass Health Network as a Medical Assistant/Nurse LPN in Jefferson County, where your expertise will be integral in delivering compassionate and quality healthcare to our community. To support our vital service needs, we are pleased to offer a \(3,000 sign-on bonus for Medical Assistants and an additional \)3,000 for Nurses.

Key Responsibilities

In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For

  • Assisting patients from the waiting area and conducting intake procedures, including taking vital signs, medication reconciliation, and gathering medical history in the EMR.
  • Providing end-of-visit materials to patients, such as lab results, referrals, and educational information related to their care.
  • Performing lab tests as directed by clinicians, including pediatric and adult immunizations, venipunctures, and assisting with minor surgical procedures.
  • Coordinating with clinicians on patient-related messages and follow-up communications with patients and pharmacies.
  • Supporting assigned clinicians with patient cases, reviewing lab results, and managing medication refills.
  • Maintaining Vaccines for Children (VFC) log sheets and administering injections as per provider orders.
  • Conducting necessary meetings with clients at scheduled appointments to collect required data for meaningful use criteria.
  • Completing miscellaneous tasks assigned by the Supervisor, including lab organization and sterilization of instruments.
  • Familiarizing yourself with and adhering to NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home Standards.
  • Presenting patient information during morning huddles with the Care Team.

Required Skills

To thrive in this position, candidates should possess:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to establish effective relationships with patients and medical staff.
  • Familiarity with medical office terminology, procedures, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

  • A Practical Nursing certificate is required if applying for the Nurse LPN position.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or LPN/GPN is required, with the successful completion of the MO NCLEX exam within 90 days of graduation.
  • CPR certification is mandatory or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • An annual respiratory protection fit test is required.
  • A High School diploma or GED is essential.
  • A minimum of one year of experience is preferred, though we welcome newly graduated Medical Assistants for training opportunities.
