Job description

Project description

The Education Development Management Unit (EDMU) of the Organisation of the Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission in the Eastern Caribbean has requested the support of Peace Corps Response Volunteers (PCRVs) to serve as Curriculum Support Officers. The OECS Program for Educational Advancement and Relevant Learning (PEARL) began in July 2021 with the goal of improved and more equitable learning outcomes through the provision of quality and relevant education and training. Support is needed for the management and implementation of the extensive curriculum and to assess the scope of the PEARL. A digital curriculum is envisaged to facilitate harmonization, impart 21st-century and WEB 2.0 skills to students and educators alike, and revolutionize the way MoEs approach and think about learning.

The PCRVs will be part of team of management and staff of the EDMU and key representatives of Member States that is responsible for increasing the capacity of the EDMU to manage implementation and support the Member States with the development of systems, structures, policies and other interventions intended to create an environment where the new curriculum will be most successful in achieving student gains in education. The PCRVs will also support regional and national teams. The support may take the form of partner research, joint research planning and collaborative writing on areas associated with curriculum development such as associated policy needs.

Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in the Eastern Caribbean together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
