POSITION TITLE: Fuel Assistance Intake Specialist 

LOCATION: Greenfield 

STATUS: Non-Exempt; Seasonal (October – June)  

SUPERVISOR: Fuel Assistance Lead Intake/Certifier Appeals Specialist 


 

POSITION SUMMARY


Interview and complete application intake for individuals applying for the Fuel Assistance program (Home Energy Assistance Program HEAP) following funding source and agency guidelines.  


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. Collect necessary documentation for establishing eligibility in-person, during phone intakes, and/or mailed information. 
  2. Complete data entry of application information. 
  3. Answer a multiple phone line system.  
  4. As provided by the program, learn, and maintain knowledge of the program’s regulations and guidelines.  
  5. Comply with agency and funders’ paperwork requirements. 
  6. Provide support with scheduling as needed. 
  7. Maintain strictest confidentiality. 
  8. Remote work available complying with the agency’s policy. 
  9. Attend regularly scheduled supervision meetings, team and department meetings, mandatory agency trainings, and participate in professional development activities.? 
  10. Performs related work as required.

Key Knowledge and Experience:


  • Experience working with marginalized communities and individuals with low incomes. 
  • Experience with data management, data capture, tracking methods and analysis for outcome measurements. 
  • Adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate close attention to details? 
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Suite) and databases. 
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish, Haitian Creole, and/or Russian is a highly valued skill for this role.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:


  • Two years of customer service and office experience in a social services or closely related field.

  • The work environment includes indoor office environments or comparable spaces, and community spaces, with occasional exposure to outdoor weather when traveling to outreach or meeting sites. The noise level varies by site.
