Role Overview:

The Community Lead for North America will play a pivotal role in cultivating and expanding the Sui community across the region. This person will be responsible for developing and executing community programming and events, driving adoption, and fostering a deep connection between Sui and its users. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community management, particularly within Web3 or gaming, and a proven track record of scaling communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Community Programming & Events: Design, launch, and manage community initiatives that resonate with Sui's North American audience. Organize events, both virtual and in-person, such as hackathons, meetups, and AMAs, that drive engagement and foster a strong sense of community.

  • Cross-Channel Engagement: Manage and grow North America community engagement across multiple platforms, including Discord, Telegram, Twitter, and forums. Ensure consistent communication and active participation across channels.

  • Ambassador Program: Oversee and support community ambassadors, monitoring their activities and providing feedback. Drive initiatives like ambassador programs and hackathons to build community loyalty.

  • Engagement & Advocacy: Build and maintain relationships with key community members, influencers, developers, and partners. Act as the voice of the community within the Sui Foundation’s community channels, ensuring that feedback is integrated into decision-making processes.

  • Content Creation & Amplification: Collaborate with the marketing team to create and distribute high-quality content that educates, informs, and engages the community. Develop a content calendar to ensure consistency.

  • Web3 Culture & Best Practices: Stay informed about the latest trends in Web3, gaming, and community management. Apply this knowledge to develop innovative strategies that align with the culture and expectations of the Sui community.

  • Moderation & Community Health: Oversee the moderation of community channels to ensure a positive, safe, and inclusive environment. Address conflicts and issues within the community proactively.

  • Data-Driven Approach: Use analytics to assess community health, optimize engagement strategies, and report key metrics to the leadership team.

Key Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in community management, with a focus on Web3, gaming, or related fields. Proven track record of launching and scaling community programs.

  • Web3 Knowledge: Deep understanding of Web3 culture, including familiarity with blockchain technology, decentralized applications, and the unique dynamics of Web3 communities.

  • Event Management: Experience in planning and executing successful community events, both online and offline.

  • Strategic & Tactical: Ability to think strategically while being hands-on in execution. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.

  • Proactive & Solutions-Oriented: A self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment. You should be comfortable with ambiguity and ready to tackle challenges head-on.

  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Strong ability to work cross-functionally with product, marketing, and engineering teams to align community efforts with broader company goals.

  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in using community management tools, social media platforms, and data analytics tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Developer Relations Experience: Experience working with developer communities or managing technical community initiatives.

  • Blockchain Ecosystem Knowledge: Familiarity with the broader blockchain ecosystem, including DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, and Layer 1/Layer 2 solutions.
