Job Summary:

We are looking for someone who is interested in a
direct hire role (no C2C) with a customer service mindset, strong interpersonal

flexibility! You’ll be working with a team to build and support a growing
infrastructure.
The Senior Cloud Engineer’s primary role is to deliver
a Microsoft Azure platform DevOps service to support a broad range of exciting
applications. This will include both the in-house delivery of code and data to
production, and a governance role where you’ll be working in partnership with
3rd-party service providers to ensure up time, quality and in line with the
SDLC. In this hands-on role, you’ll also
contribute directly to the build and deployment activities involved in
establishing the new platform then work on the significant pipeline of future
development projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Design and implement operating
procedures and processes for Office365, Azure, AzureAD and
· Develop and implement automation strategies using Powershell
or .NET applications
· Build, configure operate cloud applications within
Azure and Azure related services
· Be familiar with best practices for Azure resource
management and cost saving measures to prevent overprovisioning
· Develop reports for KPI’s in cloud infrastructure
related to costs, uptime, and performance
· Migrate on-prem applications to Azure via IaaS VMs or
Azure micro-services
· Be familiar with various Azure service offerings
that can replace existing on-prem applications
· Assist application teams in building and deploying
new infrastructure in Azure
· Collaborate iteratively with subject matter experts
to define requirements
· Help establish engineering best practices and
guidelines
· Must be available to work during regular working
hours, Pacific Standard Time
· Weekly on-call rotation with an interval determined
by the number of members on the team
· Develop and maintain system documentation in
relation to the public cloud:
o Create and update system architecture diagram(s)
and system configuration
o Create and update standard operational procedures
o Create and manage backup strategies and policies
o Update system inventory after any post-deployment
changes. Maintain up-to-date configuration documents
o Produce operational documentation for technical
staff
o Place documentation and code in appropriate
repositories. Communicate updates to team
o Update documented issues and incidents regularly
o Keep team informed about pertinent operational
processes
· General:
o Assist with standards development and quality
improvement
o Assist with administrative duties such as attending
conference calls, equipment tagging and surplus, and storage room cleanup, as
needed. Assist helpdesk with escalations of issues as needed
o Communicate clearly and effectively while
contributing as a productive member of the IT team. Work closely with other
team members to help them with relevant tasks, show them how to learn new
skills, and help resolve emerging problems on different projects
o Attend relevant meetings, adhere to deadlines, and
participate as a vital member to collectively advance team-level objectives
o Perform all required compliance policies
Qualifications:
· Minimum of five years of work experience with cloud architecture Azure/AWS
· Demonstrated experience with/in the following:
o Containers, micro
services and orchestration including Docker, Docker Swarm and AWS ECS
o Microsoft Visual Studio
.Net, .Net Framework, .Net Core, SQL Server, MySQL
o Configuration management
tools such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible
o AWS DevOps tooling stack
(Kinesis, CI/CD, etc.)
o Networking and Load
Balancers, Firewalls, VPCs, VPNs
o Revision control source
code repositories (Git, SVN, Bitbucket)
o Infrastructure and
Application logging and monitoring technologies such as SCOM, New Relic, ELK
and OpsGenie
o Internet standards such
as HTTP, HTTPS, Certificates, DNS, FTP, implementation of enterprise
applications
o All aspects of unit
testing, performance testing and user acceptance testing
o Hybrid Cloud-Based
application engineering and delivery
· Strong experience in securing Cloud applications
· SDLC (Software development Lifecycle)
