Preferred experience in Istio/Gloo-mesh/Envoy technologies.

Role and Responsibilities:

Exposure to application discovery and dependency mapping as part of app migration and rationalization activities and tooling.
Contribute to best-in-class developer experience on the cloud platforms.
Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes to it.
Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application migration and maintenance.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand the risks, mitigation plans, milestones to align with Cloud projects.
Contribute in application selection for the next waves of migration as part of the core team.
Collaborate with technology vendors and cloud partners to help build/implement versatile innovative solutions to secure workloads in private cloud environments.
Lead and mentor teams of engineers through ongoing development efforts.
Collaborate and liaise with stakeholders across different locations whose inputs are needed for the migration tool development.
Identify opportunities for adopting new technologies to support existing needs and predict future challenges.
Work closely with product managers, platform, and application engineers to implement versatile solutions to large-scale problems.
Demonstrate increased self-reliance to achieve team goals.
Influence team members with creative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk-taking.

Candidate Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required; advanced degree preferred.
Hands-on expertise with application design, software development, and automated testing.
Strong development experience in Java, Javascript, Python, or Go (preferred).
Experience with modern datastores like Redis, Couchbase, Cassandra & PostgreSQL.
Hands-on experience in cloud native application patterns and tools, microservices architectures, and application migrations.
Excellent understanding of Infrastructure, Virtualization, Containers, Network, Storage, monitoring tools, and logging analytic tools.
Preferred hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
Preferred hands-on experience with Cloud technology such as OpenShift/Kubernetes, Docker, Envoy, and control plane.
Good understanding of one-way/two-way SSL communications.
Deep understanding of Agile principles and processes.
Proven experience leading teams of engineers.
Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn through experience.
Excellent collaboration in a team environment and comfortable in group-based working sessions.
Working experience as part of an Agile team.
