Designation: PostgreSQL Architect/Consultant
Roles and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced PostgreSQL Architect/Consultant or PostgreSQL DBA
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Core PostgreSQL,
proficiency in AWS Cloud (experience with RDS is preferred), expertise in Data Modeling
within the PostgreSQL environment, and a proven track record in performance tuning for
queries, products, and services. This role is essential in designing, optimizing, and maintaining
our PostgreSQL databases to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and data integrity.
Key responsibilities include:
● Database Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL
database systems, ensuring they meet performance, scalability, and availability
requirements.
● Utilize Core PostgreSQL and best practices to create efficient and well-structured
database schemas.
● Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks by optimizing SQL
queries, indexes, and configurations. Monitor database performance and proactively
make adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
● AWS Cloud Expertise: Leverage AWS Cloud services, with a preference for RDS, to
deploy, manage, and scale PostgreSQL databases.
● Collaborate with AWS Cloud teams to ensure the seamless integration of PostgreSQL in
the cloud environment. Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data models within the
PostgreSQL environment to support efficient data storage and retrieval.
● Use PG_Dump and Data Dump techniques for data migrations and deployments.
● Backup and Recovery: Create and manage backup and recovery strategies to safeguard
data integrity and ensure disaster recovery readiness.
● Security and Compliance:Implement security measures and access controls to protect
sensitive data.
● Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
● Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database schemas,
configurations, and procedures.
Basic Technical Qualifications :
● Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or
equivalent experience).
● Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Architect, Consultant, or DBA with a strong
background in Core PostgreSQL.
● Expertise in data modeling and experience with PG_Dump/Data Dump techniques.
● Strong proficiency in performance tuning for queries, products, and services.
● Familiarity with AWS Cloud, with experience in RDS preferred.
● Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
● Certifications in PostgreSQL and AWS Cloud are a plus.
