Job Description Summary

Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, the Online Adjunct Instructor’s Primary teaching responsibilities will be in graduate courses in the journalism major. Candidates should hold a terminal degree in journalism, mass communications, or a related discipline and can demonstrate a significant and sustained research and teaching agenda related to journalism. We welcome scholars with broad teaching and research expertise in the field. **

Essential Functions And Responsibilities**

• Demonstrate a significant and sustained research and teaching agenda related to journalism.
• Actively engage with students and follow up on emails in a prompt manner.
• Grade assignments and leave substantive feedback.
• Stay compliant on administrative tasks such as the Monday check–in, etc.
• Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
• Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

Qualifications, Credentials, And Competencies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Terminal degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Journalism, Digital Media (Ph.D.), or related discipline. Three years or more of full-time online teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate levels, or equivalent, and a strong record of professional achievement.
• History of publication in academic or trade journals.
• Professional experience (video, promotion, advertising, social media, etc.).
• Established research and/or professional content agenda.
