Job Description

KLDiscovery, a leading global provider of electronic discovery, information governance and data recovery services, is currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant.

The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and reviewing and analyzing financial reports, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Corporate Accounting.

Responsibilities**

The Senior Staff Accountant will play an integral role within our accounting department in support of the following responsibilities:

  • Lead internal SOX reviews and quarterly testing, managing consultants and working closely with the IT General Controls team
  • Serve as main contact for vendor management onboarding process
  • Perform month-end accounting close functions including, but not limited to, preparing journal entries, posting transactions, accruals, account reconciliations and analysis
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly internal management reporting package for results of operations
  • Perform financial analysis of accounting data to identify and explain significant fluctuations
  • Assist in preparation of required reports for external reporting as necessary
  • Support the EY quarterly reviews and annual audit
  • Implement process improvements with a focus on automation, scalability, and efficiency
  • Supporting ERP implementation
  • Assist with special projects and perform additional tasks as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in private or public accounting
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Prior experience with Oracle Cloud applications desired, but not required
  • Ability to handle and keep confidential information with utmost care
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-past environment and act with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work with competing priorities under tight guidelines
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to all levels of the organization
  • CPA or pursuing CPA is a plus, but not required
