BOOST is helping one of our clients hire an enthusiastic and motivated Staff Accountant. NATECH is a family-owned small business that provides program management, training, and other professional support services to the Department of Defense and Federal Government. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Staff Accountant will play a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making and operations as the company continues to enhance its quality offerings and undergoes rapid growth. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, independent problem solver, who will support the financial activities, and will have a successful track record in accounting; as well as excellent analytic, organization, and communication skills.As the Staff Account, you will be responsible for supporting the company’s financial and accounting requirements. You will serve as a key resource and liaison supporting the integration of new business and contract awards. Record complex accounting transactions including preparing and posting journal entries. Ensure compliance with internal controls and seek out opportunities for continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Full cycle accounting, transaction level AR/AP/expense report processing, and monthly balance sheet accounts/bank/credit card/salaries payable reconciliations. - Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities. - Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant government accounting standards (e.g., FAR, CAS) for contract-related financial transactions. - Assist in new project setup in the accounting system. - Generate project-specific financial reports to trace revenue, costs, and profitability, providing insights into project performance. - Collaborate with internal customers to research and resolve accounting issues timely. - Seek continuous improvement to processes and procedures to gain efficiency. Implement changes in collaboration with the manager and/or supervisor. - Assist with annual external CPA financial review. - Maintain a paperless filing system via MS SharePoint - Participate in ad hoc projects and teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience Required: - Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
· Recent experience with Unanet - Three to Five years of progressive accounting experience in a similar role is preferred. - Experience in a Federal Government contracting environment. - Have a basic level of U.S. GAAP knowledge to make routine decisions or be able to identify where further research is required. - Motivated individual with strong customer service, organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills. - Analytical skills with the ability to focus on details. - Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. - Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task.
Preferred: - Knowledge of SCA guidelines. - Support for pricing government contract opportunities.
