Job description

Position Summary:

Partners with assigned business leaders across business groups and/or countries to provide strategic direction for HR priorities. Identifies HR priorities and implements solutions. Provide hands-on leadership and manage day-to-day programs and initiatives including employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, compensation, coaching & counseling, talent management, talent acquisition, HR operations, annual compensation review, and reporting on HR business results. Liaise with other HR leaders, working collaboratively as part of a geo-dispersed global HR team. Lead the assigned HR staff.

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to: 

HR Programs & Strategy:

  • Identify, recommend and implement an effective HR strategy aligned to business objectives and cultural norms
  • Identification of trends and causes of turnover and proactive implementation of strategies to enhance retention
  • Integration of programs and practices across assigned groups to enhance consistency, effectiveness and champion best practices
  • Provide HR leadership on corporate initiatives and implement PMG-wide programs across the business group
  • Provide leadership for culture and engagement for assigned groups during the high growth and acquisition processes

Talent Management:

  • Work with the HR leadership team across the assigned business group on talent management programs, process, reporting and analysis
  • Lead efforts in retention and development of employees to ensure the organization has the right talent

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local and country specific employment laws, education and adherence to local regulations and policies
  • Partner with legal counsel to ensure that employment practices and actions are compliant while meeting the needs of the business

Employee Relations:

  • Provide oversight for the overall employee relations process including coaching the HR staff to manage general day-to-day queries from staff, carry out objective investigations, performance improvement, and advice and risk assessments
  • Lead sensitive employee relations issues and bring to a successful conclusion

Performance Management & Training:

  • Provide HR business oversight on-going performance management program(s)
  • Develop and implement harmonized career ladders across assigned groups
  • Identify training needs for business group and individual executive coaching needs and partner with L&D to deliver solutions
  • Provide coaching, counseling, career development, organize & plan training as required

People Management:

  • Coach and develop direct reports including HRBP
  • Lead the team focusing on critical priorities delivering exceptional customer service and results
  • Ensure the team’s actions and deliverables are in alignment with business needs

Other:

  • Some travel to other office and business meetings may be required
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent university degree
  • 12+ years’ experience in Human Resources

Other Required:

  • Supported global organizations of 500+ employees including YOY growth
  • Previous management experience
  • HR systems experience (as a user)
  • Employee relations, coaching and counseling
  • Strong understanding of employment law
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Travel 15-20%

Preferred:

  • Degree in Human Resources or related field of study
  • HR certification
  • HR systems; ADP Workforce Now, ATS systems and other programs
  • Compensation structure design & implementation
  • Pharmaceutical or life sciences industry experience
  • Experience partnering with multiple business leaders and key stakeholders
  • High growth organization including building and supporting HR programs & policies
  • Employee relations and coaching to include both management and non-management levels
  • Demonstrated understanding of business and management principles involved in planning, staff resource allocation and human resources modeling
  • Successful record of building and nurturing a positive culture, aligning people processes with business goals and requirements
  • Understanding of project management principles and experience successfully executing complex projects
  • Comfortable working within and navigating a matrix structure
  • Experience working with a diverse and dispersed organization
