Job description

Description

The primary role of the Staff Accountant is to support the Assistant Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department. The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing tasks that must be completed in a timely manner. They maintain financial reports and records and perform general bookkeeping and billing activities such as account reconciliation and accounts payable. The Staff Accountant will assist in generating, reviewing, and analyzing financial data against budgets.


Essential Job Functions: 

  • Prepare monthly state & local sales tax filings.  Experience with Avalara is preferred.
  • Perform a variety of regular and recurring accounting functions requiring professional competency.
  • Prepare and enter transactions in accounts payable.
  • Perform payment corrections in ArbiterPay daily as needed and reconcile ArbiterPay Trust account weekly.   
  • Assist Assistant Controller with preparing budget reports.
  • Analyze large amounts of data.
  • Prepare financial reports & complete ad hoc projects as assigned.
  • Assist with identifying, testing, and implementing new and efficient processes.


Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of ArbiterSports products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2 years of accounting experience. 
  • Prior experience preparing Sales Tax returns highly preferred.
  • Ability to be organized, detail-oriented, accurate and able to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service, particularly to vendors and employees.
  • Strong proficiency with PC, NetSuite, MS Office suite including pivot tables and lookups, and other applications.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • High degree of integrity, honesty, and securing confidential information.
  • Cellphone or personal device to receive MFA (multi-factor authentication) texts or calls.
  • Have an internet connection that’s adequate for their job, a minimum of 10Mbps down.
