We're excited to begin the search for a Payroll Specialist — though this is not an immediate opening. Compensation: $20–$22/hour 
Location: Fully Remote
Schedule: Full-Time

About the Role

As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our employees across the country are paid accurately and on time. This role requires careful attention to detail, discretion when handling sensitive information, and a service mindset when supporting employees at all stages—from onboarding to offboarding.|

 

You’ll collaborate with teams across the organization, including Talent and Legal/Compliance, to uphold both our internal standards and external requirements. You’ll be part of a team working to ensure payroll runs smoothly in a complex, multi-state environment, and that our people feel supported and cared for throughout.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Collect and process payroll data across our nationwide network of schools and corporate teams using a third-party payroll system
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws across multiple states and legal entities
  • Support new location setup, including filing applications for payroll tax, unemployment, and other regulatory needs
  • Ensure accurate payroll records and reports
  • Maintain and safeguard confidential payroll records and employee data
  • Assist with employee onboarding, offboarding, and status changes in our HRIS 

 

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 1-2 years of experience in payroll or human resources
  • You bring exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy to everything you do
  • You’re a clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented mindset
  • You’re comfortable navigating tech platforms and typing quickly and accurately
  • You’re organized, proactive, and excited to grow with a dynamic team
