Job description

Cultivo is looking for someone in Mexico to support the development and execution of our land steward engagement and social impact processes for our ecosystem regeneration projects around the world. The position is full-time and fully remote with the possibility of weekly co-working if the candidate is based near one of our hubs (San Francisco, New York, and Mexico City).

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the design and oversight of our land steward engagement and social impact processes (e.g. socioeconomic baselining and monitoring, land steward consultation, etc.) for a variety of ecosystem regeneration projects, including occasional field work to our project sites
  • Ensuring compliance with social safeguards and human rights best practices for our live projects
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to guarantee the quality and integrity of our social processes and a positive social impact for land stewards
  • Conducting research to expand our approach to land steward engagement, behavioral change, and social impact, drawing on data from academic and scientific literature as well as real-world examples
  • Supporting the development of the Cultivo Social Framework

Requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Based in Mexico
  • Graduate degree preferred in human ecology, development, or related discipline
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required
  • Experience working with rural or marginalized communities
  • Experience working with development projects, the voluntary carbon market, or regenerative agriculture an advantage
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking
