Job description

Job Summary:  A Market Planning Specialist primary goal is to support the Market Planning Team via research, data acquisition, data cleansing analysis and conclusions that would include trade area diagnostics, competitive analysis, and post audits to enable the development and maintenance of strategic market plans.  These support activities will enable the Market Planners to provide proposed strategic development agreements, franchising sales, market points, sites and their impact/influence on the overall market plan to enable our Franchise Sales and Real Estate Team to optimally develop markets and Franchisee Networks. They will UNBIASEDLY influence the quality of decision making with respect to growth and performance in markets in both new store development and asset optimization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Market Plan Development and Maintenance:  Maintain strategic market plans for brand growth through both prioritized new store development (when and where) and optimization of existing assets.
  • Franchise Inventory:  Summarize and maintain Franchise Sales Inventory to enable/compliment strategic market growth.  Support the Manager Market Planning in clustering of inventory, summarizing and educating the Franchise Sales Team.
  • Trade Area and Site Analytics:  Utilizing spatial (GIS) tools, demographics, competitive/business generator data/points of interest and mass mobile data summarizes to enable analysis to identify success metrics for both trade area and site characteristics.  Maintain data and findings to empower Manager Market Planning as well as tools utilized by the Market Planning Team and Real Estate Team to effectively execute development agreements, plans and strategies.
  • Restaurant Performance Assessments:  Aid in performance assessment existing assets including, impact from proximate openings, asset optimization/brand strategies such as relocations, remodels and other changes, competitive landscape changes (openings and closings).
  • Cross-Functional Collaborations:  Aid the Manager Market Planning to support cross-functional partners including but not limited to Real Estate, Franchise Sales, Operations based on the assessments and conclusions of the actions described above to enable knowledge-based decision making.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Min/Preferred

  • 4-year degree/Real Estate, Geography, Urban Planning, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or other related majors

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

Minimum Years of Experience

  • 3+ years related experience in the field with a sound understanding and track record of market planning, business strategy and problem solving
  • 3+ years experience with statistical and mathematical modeling, demographics and mobile data.  Experience with sales and customer transaction trend analysis.
  • 3+ years retail or restaurant experience

  • Provider of CLARITY via Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong BIAS TOWARDS ACTION thru strong project and process management
  • Ability to lead a study in market and deliver on time
  • Expertise in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and GIS software
  • Hands-on experience with Alteryx, including the ability to build and manipulate workflows
  • Working knowledge of geospatial data and SQL
  • Customer service approach with ability to be HIGHLY RESPONSIVE to sensitive issues, complex inquiries and concerns from both Field-Based and Corporate-Based associates and leadership
