Job description

Job Summary:

The Director, Application Engineering Services is responsible for providing strategic leadership, management, and direction to the Clinical Application Engineering Team, Integration Engineering Team, Payer System Engineering Team, and Digital Cloud Applications Team.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for working within a multi-disciplined team to address all areas of application technology architectures including design, implementation, and support
  • Develop multi-year strategic and operational plans to achieve business goals and manage teams to ensure progress towards goals, including ongoing cost efficiencies
  • Responsible for the direction, definition, oversight, coordination and development of application performance management
  • Responsible for the direction, definition, oversight, coordination and development of technology supporting core applications including Facets, Messaging / Interoperability Platforms, and cloud applications
  • Leads operational issue incident response to resolution and effectively communicates to the organization and IT Senior Leadership activity associated with operations issues, then coordinates after-incident response
  • Aligns efforts across the various technical disciplines within the company to develop innovative and appropriate infrastructures that enable the enterprise to deliver best-in-class services to members, providers, and employees
  • Directs, manages plans and administers the operational and administrative activities of assigned departments and teams
  • Determines, plans, schedules the development, introduction, communication and maintenance of scalable, advanced technologies and methods to integrate with existing environments
  • Support the financial management for CareSource’s capital budget for hardware and software; Manage both an operational budget and an administrative budget
  • Drives the design and implementation of support and monitoring of existing and new infrastructures and applications to achieve high availability
  • Responsible for determining hardware requirements and communication bandwidth to support projected transaction volumes and response time and system availability targets
  • Organizes and controls the activities of the assigned departments, assign personnel to the various projects and direct their activities
  • Reviews and evaluates the work of the staff and prepares periodic performance reports, develop metrics and measures for individual responsibilities for members of service team based on CSMG established goals and requirements
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and engineering to support critical Disaster Recovery requirements
  • Establish organization structure to facilitate incident and problem management as it relates to assigned teams
  • Represent IT in project and/or business meeting and engagements
  • Introduce new customers to IT services to assist in familiarizing them with appropriate systems, services, policies and procedures
  • Perform any other job duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience required
  • Eight (8) years of experience in related areas, including five (5) years of direct experience in developing and implementing technically diverse application and infrastructure architectures for organizations
  • Five (5) years of leadership experience managing multiple functions and teams

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Possess wide base of knowledge in many disciplines of information technology including: Operating Systems (Windows, Linux), Performance Management and Capacity Planning, Messaging Software and Interoperability Techniques and Standards, Web and Server Technologies, Hyperconverged Infrastructure Technologies, Database technologies, Networking Technologies, Information Technology Hardware (HP, Cisco, EMC), Data Center Designs and Consolidations, Virtualization Technology Skills (VMWare, Citrix), Application Engineering and Administration, Agile / DevOps environment, Infrastructure Automation / Infrastructure as Code, Public cloud capabilities and functions (Azure)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Technical management skills (managing a wide variety of technologies)

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time

Compensation Range:

$132,900.00 - $232,700.00

CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
