What that means day-to-day:
The
IT Technician is responsible for providing user assistance across the organization, ensuring efficient resolution of technical issues and maintaining optimal endpoint system performance. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential for delivering high-quality support and ensuring user satisfaction.
This role involves hands-on device management, user account administration, remote assistance, shipping & receiving of corporate assets, audio/video system support, performing routine maintenance tasks, maintaining IT assets and inventory, and documenting all support activities.
The
IT Technician provides frontline support extending to all staff and locations where Veriforce conducts business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Technical Support: Provide 1st level support to resolve issues for end-users, including device management, software & hardware troubleshooting, account creation and access, audio/video components.
• User Requests: Manage and resolve all user requests and issues.
• User Provisioning and Deprovisioning: Follow established IT procedures to provision and deprovision user accounts in our technical environments, including Microsoft Office365, Exchange, InTune, Salesforce, and others.
• Device Provisioning: Use InTune for provisioning Windows and Mac laptops.
• Hardware Procurement: Follow established protocols to procure and maintain the inventory of IT Hardware.
• Collaborate: Collaborate with the wider IT Team including other IT Technicians, Systems Administrators, Network Engineers, and Cyber Security Administrators to provide expert level support.
• In-Office Support: Veriforce offers flexible work schedules in a hybrid work environment with a strong focus on work-life balance. This role does require regular, but not daily, attendance at the office to support staff and IT hardware.
What you’ll need to be successful:
Knowledge and Experience
• Education: An associate degree or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required.
• Certifications: CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals, or similar certifications are beneficial.
• Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or technical support role is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Technical Skills: Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts. Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS), common software applications, mobile devices, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with users and document support activities.
• Problem Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Customer Service Orientation: A friendly and patient demeanor to provide high-quality support and ensure user satisfaction.
• Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Team Collaboration: Willingness to work collaboratively with other IT staff and departments.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience managing user accounts in Microsoft 365 or Active Directory.
• Experience with Windows device administration, including installation, user account profiles, software installation and removal.
• Experience with iOS and Android device support, including app installation and MFA processes.
• A proactive attitude and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
