Job description

It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!

We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.

Senior Director, Product Operations based in USA – Remote Setup

Avid Technology is seeking for a Senior Director, Product Operations to join our team. This role will oversee a team of Strategic Product Operations and Execution Operations leads, working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Executive Leadership. The role will own the product operations framework, drive operational standards, manage business reporting, and ensure execution across the entire product lifecycle — from concept to post-launch analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

  • Own and evolve the product operating model

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing Product Operations team covering strategic ops and execution ops across hardware and software.

  • Drive a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and data-informed decision-making.

Operational Execution

  • Lead quarterly planning, roadmap governance, and bi-weekly cross-functional execution reviews.

  • Oversee the integration of feedback loops into planning processes to ensure the voice of customer and market are embedded in product decisions.

  • Partner with Engineering leadership to drive process standardization across toolsets, workflows, and development practices.

Execution Governance Across Hardware and Software

  • Ensure separate but aligned execution oversight for hardware and software development lifecycles, respecting unique timelines and dependencies.

  • Track delivery against roadmap commitments, surface risks, and ensure proactive mitigation across teams.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Revenue Ops, Sales, Support, and Finance to ensure go-to-market readiness and launch success.

  • Embed operational alignment between product development and business outcomes, including pricing committee, launch readiness, and GTM tracking.

Business Reporting and Visibility

  • Own the preparation and delivery of operational reporting for Monthly Operating Reviews (MOR) and Board of Directors (BOD) updates.

  • Define and track key product health and execution KPIs across hardware and software portfolios.

  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the executive team based on delivery and performance trends.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Operations, Program Management, Product Management, or related roles within fast-paced, technology-driven organizations.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience building and scaling operational teams and functions.

  • Proven success leading complex operational frameworks across hardware, software, and go-to-market teams.

  • Experience with agile software development, hardware development lifecycles, and modern product management best practices.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience building operational KPIs, reporting frameworks, and executive-level communications.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to influence across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Executive teams.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building structure, process, and visibility where none exists.

  • High integrity, low ego, action-oriented leadership style.

What to look forward to?

  • Join a global team and experience a dynamic, collaborative work environment that fosters innovation and growth.

  • Remote work model offering flexibility to balance work and life.

  • Access to development programs with strong support and mentoring to help you grow and advance within the company.

  • Equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusivity, and creating a welcoming environment for all employees.

  • Attractive benefits package including health & life insurance, referral rewards, and generous leave policies to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
