The Financial Management Division (FMD), within the CDPH Administration Division, is responsible for the preparation, analysis and management of the Department’s budget, maintenance of accounting records and financial data, and acts as the liaison with the Department of Finance (DOF), Legislative Analyst’s Office, Legislative Budget staff, and the federal government on budget and fiscal matters affecting the Department.
FMD is located in downtown Sacramento in the East End Complex across from the beautiful State Capitol Park and World Peace Rose Garden.

Job Description And Duties
The Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) serves as the Chief of the Fund Reporting Unit and plays a key role in overseeing all accounting activities within a complex financial system for departmental funds. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating a wide range of fiscal operations to ensure accuracy, compliance and timely reporting.
Core duties include managing monthly reconciliations between the department’s Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) records and the State Controller’s Office, posting journal entries, and researching and resolving any reconciling items. The role also leads the preparation of year-end financial statements, applies adjustments in line with the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and compiles the department’s annual detailed fund balance reports.
The position works under the general supervision of the Accounting Administrator II of the Fund Reporting Unit and offers the opportunity to contribute to the department’s financial integrity in a leadership capacity.
