Azure DevOps Engineer (Multiple Positions) Reston, VA

DUTIES:

• Manage releases throughout the software development cycle (SDLC) using Azure DevOps services, within multiple environments, to ensure they can be delivered within the agreed upon release time, cost, and scope.  

• Monitor Azure environments for health, performance, and security, triggering appropriate response protocol based on severity and impact.   

• Oversee and implement upgrades, patches, and fixes needed to ensure software and products are up to date.  

• Review, analyze, and provide recommendations for tools, technologies, and practices to meet current and future Azure cloud environment performance needs. 

• Support the Azure cloud environment and associated cloud environment components including security monitoring, incident response, network connection management, site architecture, system patching, product upgrades, major incident response, infrastructure performance tuning, and integrations. 

• Provide weekly report on the health and performance of the Azure environment. 

• Provide real-time afterhours performance monitoring and reporting during periods with higher-than-normal traffic.

• Develop and maintain automated scaling procedures based on load requirements of the application to increase or reduce resources as needed to support higher-than-normal traffic. 

• Manage Azure SQL database and Microsoft SQL database server users, roles, and object permissions. 

• Use containerization and configuration management to deploy code changes using DevOps Pipeline and CHEF to a specific environment with the issuance of a single command. 

• Create the database instance and configure database parameters for database services as required for the intended function of the application. 

• Manage and maintain all databases backups, performing scheduled and unscheduled database backup and database recovery procedures on an as-needed basis. 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related technical field followed by 5 years of progressively responsible Software Development experience OR Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related technical field and 3 years of progressively responsible Software Development experience. Experience must include:

• 3 years of experience managing, implementing and supporting the Azure cloud.

• 3 years of experience with iaas, paas, and saas services.

• 3 years of experience with Azure Devops services: Azure services administration, Azure ARM templates scripting, Azure powershell scripting, Chef scripting, YAML, JSON, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure App Services, Azure Monitor, Azure vms, Azure Application Gateway, Azure Load Balancer, Azure SQL Database and Azure App Insights

• 3 years of experience administering Windows Active Directory Servers

• 1 year experience with SiteCore Content Management System

Telework:100% Remote; may be performed from anywhere in the US                      

SALARY: $173,763-$182,697/year
