Job Overview

The Professional Learning Manager, Field, builds broad and successful usage of Learning A-Z products by managing and implementing high-quality product training and professional learning for a regional portfolio of customers. Combining expertise in elementary education, research-based literacy instruction, and professional learning facilitation, the Professional Learning Manager contributes to improved classroom instructional practices and effective use of Learning A-Z resources.

Working closely with sales executives, the Professional Learning Manager is the lead point of contact for professional learning services, consulting with customers to define needs and execute professional learning plans that support new, renewal, and expansion business. They have experience identifying professional learning needs and building consensus with multiple stakeholders. They also love working with teachers and facilitating professional learning to support Learning A-Z product use.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Professional Learning Services, the Professional Learning Manager is a natural presenter and people person, highly organized, creative, and wants to be part of a collaborative, high-energy team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Cultivate trusting relationships with sales partners and customers to develop professional learning plans designed to effectively deliver initial and ongoing training to support Learning A-Z product adoption and usage.
  • Effectively negotiate conversations with district and school decision-makers, applying product, literacy, and professional learning expertise with knowledge of district initiatives and goals.
  • Develop and manage professional learning plans, in collaboration with a district or school, including evaluation of needs, scheduling of events, organization of all delivery assets, and pre/post event communication.
  • Conduct effective and engaging virtual and onsite professional learning sessions and complete documentation of pre/post training reports, surveys, and communications.
  • Effectively communicate with the sales team and Senior Manager, Professional Learning Services to discuss assessed district or school needs and goals for the account.
  • In collaboration with the sales team, analyze customer health within the regional portfolio to identify additional support needs.
  • Support professional learning contractors, as needed, to deliver professional learning to customers, ensuring adequate training and preparation to effectively support educators.
  • Collaborate with the Professional Learning Services team to set, document, analyze, and manage professional learning activities towards measurable performance metrics.
  • Produce weekly/monthly reports and data on account progress, goals, and initiatives to evaluate account performance with team members and key stakeholders.
  • Participate in ongoing training, cross-functional team projects, collaborative decision-making, and development of team events.
  • Represent Learning A-Z and present awareness sessions at sales events and professional conferences.

Job Requirements

  • Engaging professional learning facilitation skills with knowledge of adult learning best practices to support educators implementing supplemental resources
  • Knowledge of education research and legislation, Science of Reading research, and research-based literacy instruction
  • Proven ability to work with small, flexible, cross-functional teams to set measurable goals and meet or exceed them
  • Self-directed and able to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment from a home-based office
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including some weekend and evening work, and travel as needed, up to 60% during peak season
  • 2+ years experience providing professional learning in K-5 education or educational technology
  • 5+ years experience as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, or instructional coach in elementary education
