Job description

The Field Application Specialist will join the small molecular genetics (OGT) commercial team in the Nordic region helping to train and support customers in the CytoCell™ and CytoSure™ cytogenetic/molecular genetic family of products and introduce the SureSeq™ next generation sequencing (NGS) products.

The role will contribute to expanding the customer base in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark help ensure that sales targets are met and that long term relationships are developed.

Your responsibilities

This is a great opportunity for someone capable of offering high quality scientific, technical support, whilst developing their customer and commercial experience.

It will suit someone who is a self-motivated, resilient problem solver and is excited by improving our customers’ outcomes and experiences. This role is field based and as such will involve a significant amount of travel (60%+ of working hours) within the Nordic region, so the successful candidate lives close to a main airport in any of the Nordic countries.

TEAM

The role Field Application Specialist for the business area OGT reports to the Life Science Director in UK but is part of the Sysmex Nordic organisation. A yearly goalsetting process with a mid-year review is held with manager to develop the role and reach strategic company goals. Also, regular one to ones and face to face meetings will take place.

Main Tasks

Reporting to the Northern European Life Science Director, this role will have a wide variety of duties such as:

  • Travel extensively across the Nordic region to visit customers
  • Provide technical training on OGT CytoCell™, NGS and Microarray products
  • Provide ongoing technical support for existing customers
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to provide the highest level of customer service to existing and future accounts, accompanying team members to meetings, where agreed to be beneficial to do so
  • To complete any other tasks as commensurate with the level and nature of the post

Your profile

Skills And Abilities Needed

  • Relevant degree in the field of life sciences, molecular biology, life sciences or an equivalent subject
  • Highly detailed, up-to-date scientific, technical knowledge in the field of genetics, cytogenetics and NGS
  • Knowledge of tumor biology/genetics and diagnostics is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and judgement skills with attention to detail
  • The ability to communicate simply and effectively on complex topics, with a structured, independent, and goal-oriented way of working
  • An interest in/understanding of commercial key performance indicators
  • A proactive approach to work with excellent organisational skills
  • Credibility with customers (potential and existing) and colleagues across the organisation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider European team
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • The flexibility to make and change travel plans, at relatively short notice
  • Microsoft Office skills
