We're now looking for a Python Engineer to support our growth by developing and maintaining internal operational tools that drive efficiency across our teams. Reporting to the VP Professional Services, this position is responsible for creating and enhancing Python-based applications and APIs that streamline internal workflows and processes. You'll also work on user-friendly frontend interfaces for these internal tools, ensuring they're intuitive and effective for our teams.Design, develop, and maintain Python applications using the Django framework to support internal operations
Create and consume RESTful APIs to connect different systems and services within our AWS environment
Build intuitive frontend interfaces for internal tools that improve team efficiency
Leverage AWS services (like Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB) to develop scalable and resilient applications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational requirements and implement appropriate solutions
Optimise existing applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
Document code, APIs, and system functionalities for future reference and knowledge sharing
Ideally, you have already gained some experience from working in a fast growing, global SaaS company. In addition, our humble wishlist includes:
2-3 years of experience as a Python developer, with strong proficiency in Django framework and Django REST framework
Ability to work remotely within GMT±1 timezone
Experience with creating and consuming RESTful APIs
Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native development. Working knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, and EC2
Understanding of database design and SQL (Amazon RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL preferred
Experience with containerization using Docker and AWS ECS/EKS is a plus
Familiarity with Git version control and CI/CD pipelines
Good communication skills in English
Experience with agile development methodologies
Comfort with frontend development for internal applications and working knowledge of frontend technologies.
Independent problem-solving attitude and ability to take ownership of projects
Proactive communication and collaboration skills
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
