JOB TITLE: Director of Sales and Marketing

Position Purpose
The Director of Sales and Marketing is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the commercial
success of DigitalOptometrics through development and execution of high-impact sales and marketing
strategies. This individual leads all aspects of business development, client acquisition, brand
positioning, and marketing operations, targeting growth across optical retail, ophthalmology, and
healthcare provider markets. This role oversees both the sales and marketing functions, builds and
mentors a high-performing team, and works closely with cross-functional leadership to expand the
company's national footprint and influence.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Leads the development and execution of a comprehensive sales strategy focused on client acquisition, revenue growth, and market expansion.
- Builds, manages, and mentors a B2B sales team, setting performance goals and ensuring achievement of revenue and growth objectives.
- Owns the design and implementation of multi-channel marketing strategies to drive brand awareness and generate qualified leads.
- Collaborates with executive leadership to identify new addressable markets and develop tailored go- to-market approaches.
- Manages CRM usage, reporting structures, and sales pipeline development to ensure visibility, accountability, and data-driven forecasting.
- Fosters and maintains long-term relationships with key accounts and strategic partners to support retention and expansion.
- Oversees external marketing partners, including agencies and consultants, to execute digital campaigns, branding, and product messaging.
- Develops and refines product positioning, messaging, and market differentiation strategies aligned with customer segments.
- Represents the company at trade shows, industry events, and conferences to promote brand visibility and capture market insights.
- Partners with Operations teams to ensure alignment between market strategy and service capabilities.
- Monitors market trends, competitor activity, and client feedback to adjust tactics and support business growth.
- Drives continuous improvement in sales processes, team training, and marketing execution to maximize impact and scalability.
- Performs additional duties as assigned, as this list does not reflect all responsibilities of the Director of Sales and Marketing.

Skills
- Proficiency with CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Strong data analysis skills for sales pipeline management, performance tracking, and ROI measurement.
- Experience with digital marketing channels, campaign execution, and lead generation.
- Deep understanding of healthcare B2B sales and provider decision-making dynamics.
- Effective public speaking and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
- MBA or equivalent executive-level training preferred.
Experience
- 8+ years of progressive experience in sales and marketing, ideally within healthcare, telehealth, medical technology, or optometry settings with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven success in selling to clinical stakeholders, including ophthalmologists, optometrists, or health systems.
- Demonstrated experience building and scaling commercial teams in healthcare, medical technology, or telehealth.
- Strong record of success in go-to-market strategy, lead generation, and brand development.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and aligning commercial strategy with organizational goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Leads and manages the Sales and Marketing teams, including performance management and professional development.
- Establishes department goals, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to measure team success.
- Provides coaching and support to direct reports in sales execution, client engagement, and marketing effectiveness.
- Recommends and facilitates performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and staffing changes as needed.
Work Environment
- When working remotely, employees are expected to work in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- Access to a fast and reliable hardwired internet connection with a minimum of 10 Mbps upload and 10 Mbps download speeds.
- Travel expenses are covered by the company.
- Ability to travel as needed for trade shows or client meetings.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to be punctual and attend work on a regular and consistent basis.
- This is a salaried position; however, additional hours may be required to meet business needs.
- Must be able to concentrate with various interruptions, weather conditions, and noise levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively (speak and hear) and perform tasks requiring use of hands and fingers.
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods, up to 8+ hours a day, with standard breaks provided in accordance with company policy and applicable state regulations.
- Ability to remain on feet for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per day), as required for training sessions.
- Ability to walk long distances as needed to conduct training sessions and navigate various facilities.
- Ability to travel as needed for business development efforts.
