Role Overview

This remote role sits within the Burton-Taylor (B-T) sales function, focusing on driving revenue through ad hoc report sales, research subscription sales, and consulting engagements. A day in the life of this Salesperson involves cold calling, networking, managing incoming leads, maintaining relationships with current clients, and uncovering high-margin opportunities to expand B-T’s business.

The role requires active pipeline management, CRM updates, and collaboration with marketing and research teams to ensure revenue targets are met and client satisfaction is maintained.

The ideal candidate will bring 7–8 years of experience, demonstrating a strong professional presence and expertise aligned with the B-T brand.

Role Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual gross and net sales targets through ad hoc and subscription sales.

  • Manage and grow opportunities via cold calling, networking, incoming leads, and client base expansion.

  • Maintain accurate and updated opportunity and contact data in the B-T CRM system.

  • Conduct weekly pipeline reviews with Director of B-T and/or Head of Sales to assess opportunity progress.

  • Renew and renegotiate client contracts to meet retention rate targets and minimize cancellations.

  • Support marketing campaigns through email, social media, and website initiatives to generate inquiries.

  • Assist in communicating and managing research materials and subscription content with clients.

  • Identify new areas of revenue growth and mitigate areas of revenue risk with proactive planning.

  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to B-T staff to support research product development.

  • Attend industry events to promote B-T products, collect contacts, and distribute marketing materials.

Experience / Competences

Essential

  • Strong understanding of prospecting, sales, and closing techniques.

  • In-depth knowledge of user workflow and content needs in target markets.

  • High-level interpersonal and relationship management skills.

  • Familiarity with B-T Industry Vertical products, including content, user targets, and production schedules.

  • Ability to apply B-T commercial policy guidelines effectively to maximize business benefit.

  • Skilled in maintaining high-integrity, legally compliant customer engagement.

  • Experience selling content, intelligence, or consulting services rather than physical products.

Desired

  • Experience in financial services such as banking, investment banking, or capital markets.

  • Solid experience with CRM systems and data entry for managing sales pipelines.

  • Reasonable background in working collaboratively on consulting engagements and marketing campaigns.

  • Solid exposure to market trends, competitor activity, and industry-specific research products.
