Tenstorrent is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional to join the Supplier Quality team based here in Taiwan. The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of components and materials sourced from suppliers for semiconductor manufacturing processes. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with our outsourced silicon assembly and test (OSAT) and assembly contract manufacturer (CM) suppliers to drive the delivery and quality performances of our devices. This position involves overseeing the entire supplier quality process, from supplier selection to performance monitoring, and ensuring that products meet both internal standards and customer specifications.

This role is remote, based out of Taiwan.

Responsibilities:

Supplier Quality Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring clear communication of quality requirements and expectations.
  • Assess and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality capabilities, performance, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Manage the supplier qualification process, ensuring suppliers meet the required quality standards and certifications.

Quality Control and Monitoring:

  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance using key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, on-time delivery, etc.).
  • Perform regular audits of suppliers’ processes and facilities to ensure compliance with specifications and quality management systems.
  • Identify quality issues and collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions.

Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving:

  • Lead or participate in root cause analysis for any supplier-related quality issues.
  • Use statistical tools and techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, FMEA, Pareto analysis) to identify, analyze, and resolve product and process issues.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams (engineering, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure effective problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Quality Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of supplier quality assessments, audits, corrective actions, and performance reports.
  • Prepare and present regular supplier quality performance reports to senior management.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.

 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering within the semiconductor or electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, materials, and quality management systems.
  • Proficiency in quality tools such as root cause analysis (8D methodology), SPC, MSA, APQP, FMEA, and Control/Quality Plan tools and process optimization techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Ability to travel to supplier sites as needed.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with advanced semiconductor packaging technologies and processes.
  • Knowledge of supplier relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Six Sigma, Lean, or other continuous improvement certifications.
  • Past auditing experience in Automotive is desirable.
