The Director of Internal & Board of Directors Communications, will lead the strategy development, execution, and continuous improvement of internal communications and Board engagement. This role partners with Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to establish the cadence, content, and effectiveness of communications that align with Dairy MAX’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. The Director will ensure employees and Board members are well-informed, engaged, and aligned with organizational goals.
Requirements
Internal Communications Strategy and Execution
- Develop and implement an internal communications strategy that enhances employee engagement and aligns with Dairy MAX’s culture and objectives.
- Ensure effective communication channels and platforms are in place to foster seamless information sharing.
- Continuously assess and improve communication effectiveness through feedback mechanisms and engagement analytics.
Board of Directors Communication
- Lead Board of Directors communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational strategy and priorities.
- Oversee content development for internal newsletters, leadership updates, and Board materials.
- Work closely with Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) to align Board communication strategies and reinforce industry-wide messaging.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership Support
- Partner with Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to establish a structured cadence for internal and Board communications, ensuring timely and relevant content.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to craft messages that drive transparency, trust, and organizational alignment.
- Serve as a strategic advisor on best practices for internal messaging and executive communications.
Crisis Communications
- Support crisis communication efforts by ensuring employees and the Board receive timely and accurate information.

- Continuous Improvement: Commitment to evaluating and refining communication strategies based on feedback and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in internal communications, executive communications, or corporate communications, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
- Experience managing communications with Boards of Directors and executive leadership teams strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working in complex, matrixed organizations or industry associations is a plus.
