WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

We are looking for a creative and value-driven SEO Content Writer to join our team! In this role, you will work together with a team of experts to meticulously craft strategically-planned and compelling travel content while honing your SEO skills and writing expertise in the evolving age of AI.

This role is ideal for someone who has a strong commitment to quality and timeliness, takes initiative to seek clarity, collaborates effectively, and thrives in handling diverse projects. You’ll play a key role in helping Pelago stand out as a trusted source for travel inspiration by sharing your expertise and unique perspective while staying true to our brand voice. Key Responsibilities:

- Write engaging and optimised travel content (articles, product detail pages, and other landing pages) that connects with readers, provides unique value, aligns with search intent, and supports traffic and conversion goals.

- Takes ownership of articles, ensuring content is error-free, well-structured, and seamlessly aligned with Pelago’s tone, voice, and brand integrity.

- Identify and integrate multimedia elements (images, videos, infographics) into content that can increase relevance and engagement.

- Conduct thorough research to identify content opportunities based on audience interests, seasonality, and current trends.

- Follow and implement SEO content strategies to enhance visibility and improve rankings across regions and search engines.

- Maintain the content production calendar and collaborate with external teams, ensuring timely delivery of articles and distribution of content.

- Adeptly manage stakeholder expectations and adhere rigorously to established deadlines and timelines.

- Analyse and report on content performance, keyword trends, and the impact of SEO activities.

- Stay informed on the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and travel content innovations.

- Support ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a problem-solving mindset.

WHAT EXPERTISE YOU NEED TO HAVE?

- Knows how to take a content brief/audit and independently move it from concept to execution.

- Ability to approach writing with a journalist’s mindset - finding unique angles and telling engaging stories - while keeping SEO best practices in mind to create content that ranks well and resonates with readers.

- Excellent editorial skills to ensure accuracy, grammar, and consistency in all knowledge of on-page SEO best practices, including keyword research, meta tags, optimised headers, and effective internal linking strategies.

- Proficiency in using tools like Google Search Console, and keyword research platforms (e.g., Ahrefs, Google Keyword Planner) to monitor and enhance content performance.

- Experience in using content management systems (CMS) to efficiently upload and update content.

- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work across teams and manage stakeholders effectively

- A portfolio of writing samples demonstrating your skill in creating SEO-friendly content.

- Regularly engages with travel-related media—blogs, vlogs, magazines, and social media trends—to stay informed and inspired.

- Prior experience in a similar role in travel or eCommerce industries

- Knowledge and experience in off-page optimisation is a plus
