At Placemakr, home meets hospitality. We’ve combined the best of apartment living, vacation rentals, and hotel stays into one experience. We partner with developers, property operators, and investors to curate a collection of apartment-like spaces in hand-picked neighborhoods. Our tech-enabled buildings create one-of-a-kind guest experiences and add tremendous value to the underlying real estate. Whether guests are with us for a night, a year, or somewhere in between, these are more than just spaces to spend the night — they’re a place to call home.
Our property team members help our buildings thrive by focusing on execution and ensuring a great experience for both residents and guests. Our non-property team members support property execution and the evolution of other areas within our platform. They can enjoy remote-first work with the freedom to choose their location — as long as they have access to a workspace and reliable Wi-Fi. We believe collaboration is key, so our remote-first teams and property leaders have biannual in-person get-togethers at various locations across the US.

The Impact You’ll Have

As Manager, Brand Marketing, you will collaborate with cross-functional leadership to expand upon a brand strategy that both excites our external partners and maintains alignment with our broader company vision as a whole. Your mission will be to own the ongoing development of our brand, guest communication and marketing strategies that build the Placemakr brand and increase awareness, engagement and conversion.
Through a hands-on approach to leadership and marketing execution, you will be responsible for setting new market and property brand strategies, content and communication oversight and leading a talented team of agency and in-house creative team members. As our organization grows, you will play a vital role in building the long-term vision and process for a high-performing marketing team, tasked with setting our brand apart from all others in the marketplace.
What You'll DoStrategic Storytelling: Develop messaging frameworks that align with the company’s broader mission and expansion goals. External Representation and Expansion: Translate brand strategy into compelling narratives for external audiences. Collaborate with real estate and development teams to pitch brand vision for new properties and locations. New Market Strategies: Partner with leadership on branding and go-to-market strategies for new property launches and market expansions. New Property Branding: Partner cross-functionally to ensure physical environments reflect the brand’s look, feel, and values. Continuous Improvement: Build upon systems for naming, positioning, and launching new properties across markets. Brand Strategy & Positioning: Guide the visual and verbal identity, ensuring consistency and quality. Maintain this positioning and voice across all channels and with all agency partners. Performance Marketing Collaboration: Partner closely with performance marketing to align brand and growth strategies, ensuring awareness, engagement and conversion. Content Oversight: Lead and support the execution of content strategy for email, blog/SEO, and owned. Own the website look and feel as well as online presence in sales channels, ensuring a strong appeal to consumers. Guest Communication Strategies: Oversee guest communications and editorial storytelling, creating streamlined communication paths that align with Placemakr’s mission and each property’s individual brand External Communications: Support external partner and investor communications by collaborating with in-house and agency PR points of contact. Creative & Team Management: Oversee and grow the in-house creative team and agency partners, through hands-on leadership and creating a culture of engagement and high-performance. Documentation: Document internal and external processes related to brand, creative requests, campaign strategies and execution, and agency partnerships. Additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned. What It TakesA bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, management or a related field, or commensurate experience in lieu of a formal degree. 4-6+years of experience in a Marketing, Brand, PR or similar role, with a progressive increase in responsibilities. Agency and/or start-up experience a plus! Demonstrated experience managing creative projects and initiatives end-to-end, including social media, website and digital media strategies, marketing campaigns and brand vision execution. Exceptional verbal and written communication and storytelling skills. Previous experience in a people leadership role, specifically with in-house or agency team members, strongly preferred. An analytical mindset that allows you to think creatively on strategy and innovate conventional systems and practices. Demonstrated decision-making skills and capabilities, and the ability to deliver a message clearly and professionally across varying levels of internal and external team members, leaders and business units. An outside-the-box mindset, supported by proficiency in recognizing themes, implementing solutions and staying up-to-date with brand strategy trends. Ability to manage cross-functional relationships, competing priorities and time and resources proactively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
