Job description

This is a remote position.

Join our client’s dynamic physical therapy practice dedicated to providing exceptional care to their patients. Virtual Rockstar is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Virtual Assistant to support our client’s growing team in Florida.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle eligibility and benefit verifications and prior authorization requests for physical therapy services.

  • Answer incoming phone calls and manage patient inquiries via phone and email.

  • Convert leads into new patients and schedule appointments effectively.

  • Manage the patient waitlist and coordinate appointment rescheduling.

  • Sort and assign faxes, ensuring timely processing.

  • Confirm patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar.

  • Greet patients and provide directions within the facility when needed.

  • Collaborate with medical staff to manage daily schedules and ensure efficient operations.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and update files with insurance information.

  • Liaise with insurance providers to clarify coverage details.

  • Coordinate telehealth appointments and follow up with patients post-session.

  • Send personalized exercise and treatment plans to patients.

  • Manage referrals from other healthcare providers.



Requirements
  • Understanding of US-based insurances and obtaining accurate benefit information in addition to prior authorization management.

  • Previous experience in a medical office or virtual assistant role is preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and EMR systems (Heno and Nectar experience is a plus).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
