OVERVIEW:

The Front-End Developer is responsible for creating responsive front-end solutions and managing the overall creative design process of a client project. Works cooperatively with backend web developers to build and deliver quality web application solutions. Will create the user interface and use web-based programming languages for the front-end portion of websites. A large degree of creativity and collaboration is expected. Will work on multiple web/application projects in an effort to develop quality solutions for government, and/or private sector clients.

  • Build web applications with web development best practices.
  • Transform app designs into front-end code with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Work with UI/UX Designers & Back-End Developers to integrate UI components with APIs and databases.
  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical requirements and/or UX design.
  • Debug errors, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine performance optimizations.
  • Manage search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Write high-quality, scalable, and reusable code.
  • Implements design and functionality as requested.
  • Utilizes creative process to design and develop responsive front-end elements of websites.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science or Similar.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience developing modern, responsive and cross-browser-compatible websites using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React and Vue.
  • Experience utilizing JavaScript libraries such as jQuery and Bootstrap
  • Familiarity with dynamic CSS preprocessors such as SASS/SCSS or LESS is advantageous.
  • Experience with corporate, non-profit, Federal, or State/Municipal clientele.
  • Understanding of coding for Section 508 & WCAG 2.0 compliance.
  • Proficiency in code versioning systems like Git is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles.
  • Experience using Adobe web page and design software including Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, and Flash.
  • Ability to understand customer plans, problems, processes, and requirements.
  • Demonstrated capability to meet project deadlines and milestones while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Superior communication skills for collaboration with colleagues and ensuring client satisfaction.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
  • May be required to work on-call or long hours if necessary, in case of serious network malfunction.
