Job description

At Allstate, great things happen when our people work together to protect families and their belongings from life’s uncertainties. And for more than 90 years our innovative drive has kept us a step ahead of our customers’ evolving needs. From advocating for seat belts, air bags and graduated driving laws, to being an industry leader in pricing sophistication, telematics, and, more recently, device and identity protection.

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Auto Claims Technical Consultant to join our team. This position is responsible for aiding in or leading the development and implementation of complex consulting projects. As a key player, you will represent the business area in strategic planning activities and provide valuable recommendations based on best practice benchmarking, data analysis, and forecasting. You will work closely with our staff and partners to identify current and future business needs related to all Auto claims end-to-end processes. Your role will also include overseeing research, design, build, testing, deployment, analysis, and maintaining environments to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Interpret regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of business unit and/or industry systems, processes, and requirements.
  • Gather and analyze business and stakeholder requirements to initiate, develop, and recommend business practices and procedures.
  • Apply best practices in summarizing, consolidating, and presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Coach, mentor, and assist in the development of formal and ad hoc training initiatives.
  • Ensure successful project completion by supporting organizational objectives and anticipating the need for adaptations and changes in end-to-end processes at a global or enterprise level.
  • Implement solutions to enhance customer experience and operational effectiveness.
  • Initiate and support business optimization efforts for effective and efficient delivery of valued services.
  • Represent the business area in strategic planning activities with senior leaders.

Role Expectations:

As an Auto Claims Technical Consultant, you’ll wear a few hats throughout your day. Each role requires a specific skill set and experience:

  • The Customer Experience Expert: You will live into our Claims Culture by being compassionate, clear, and a committed partner in each Auto property damage claim. Your empathy will always lead your actions.
  • The Problem Solver: You will use your sharp critical thinking skills to navigate a fast-paced environment, utilizing multiple tools, including estimating platforms, analysis reports, and standard processes.
  • The Teacher: With your strong communication skills, you will coach others on adhering to industry standards, company best practices, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in auto adjusting with a strong understanding of insurance policies, coverage, and repair processes. Knowledge in multiple provinces preferred.
  • Experience handling large loss and/or complex claims required.
  • Proven experience in training, coaching, and mentoring others.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, managing time effectively.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Joining our team isn’t just a job — it’s an opportunity. One that takes your skills and pushes them to the next level. One that encourages you to challenge the status quo. And one where you can impact the future for the greater good.

You’ll do all this in a flexible environment that embraces connection and belonging. And with the recognition of several inclusivity and diversity awards, we’ve proven that Allstate empowers everyone to lead, drive change and give back where they work and live.
