What You’ll Do
The Foundation for California Community Colleges is on a mission to double its impact in the next 10 years. We are a group of relentless optimists and innovators in education, working collaboratively with public and private partners to help improve the student experience and expand pathways to economic and social mobility in communities across California. We are seeking an Accountant to join the Foundation in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. The Program Accountant is responsible for routine financial transactions and performing month end close functions. This position manages tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, contract/grant reporting, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
With supervision, manages assigned contracts, grants and/or fiscal sponsor relationships which includes, preparing monthly financial statements and/or invoices, comparing expenses to contracted budgeted amounts, completing and reviewing costing allocations and answering inquiries made by contract/grant managers and other personnel
Supports Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable, revenue recognition, budget development, analysis, and forecasting
Serves as a liaison between Finance and assigned cost centers, programs, and/or projects
Attributes for Success
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required.
Knowledge of Workday and Adaptive Planning technology systems is preferred.
Ability to work on a fast-paced team and build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Budgeted Annual Salary Pay Range:
$76,000.00 - $77,000.00Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
