Client: Biotech Position: Senior Import and Export Specialist Location: Remote anywhere in US Duration: 1 year contract + opportunity for extensions
Client’s Global Trade Office is an organization within the Trade Compliance function. Centralized under Global Supply Chain, this team is accountable for seamless integration of policy and execution activities for imports and exports in support of the entire Client organization to ensure our medicines are timely delivered at the right place. Members of the Global Trade Office provide program oversight for trade compliance, establish controls and global standards for regional execution and are experts in international trade regulations for the bio-pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities
Assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification codes and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) to company’s commodities including drug product, raw materials, chemicals and other materials supporting the company’s business
Review shipping documentation and customs invoices for accuracy including valuation, commodity classification, and country of origin
Submit Export Declaration (EEI) to US Census via AES
Complete Sanctioned Party List Screening via SAP-Global Trade Services (GTS)
Classify products per the Harmonized Tariff of the United States (HTS US)
Preferred qualifications:
U.S. Licensed Customs Broker
Understanding of International Customs and World Trade Organization Regulations
Understanding of import/export processes in non-US countries
Ability to build working relationships and effectively partner cross-functionally, cross-regionally and at all levels in the organization
Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, collaboration, and executive presentation skills
