Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) has an industrial manufacturing cleint in the Dayton area seeking a SupplierQuality Engineer position. Fully Remote. Territory is Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. Salary Range is $90,000-$105,000. 10% bonus and 4-5 weeks vacation.
This is a full-time work-from-home/remote position with travel requirements to corporate locations in Client, Ohio, and Canton, Ohio, as well as OEM sites in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Mexico. Purpose:
The Quality Advancement organization is responsible for maintaining and strengthening Metallus, Inc.'s reputation for quality through the Manufactured Components (MC) business model, in which more than 70 percent of the business's manufacturing is performed through subcontractors.
The Supplier Quality Development Lead position plays a key role in improving MC's overall business performance through the advancement of the quality system. This will require the Supplier Quality Development Lead to have an in-depth knowledge of the quality system and customer-specific requirements and the ability to realize improvements through close interaction with subcontractors and customers.
This position will also represent Metallus and the subcontractors to the customer to ensure that performance expectations are met or exceeded and professionally handle any issues that arise. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring subcontractors' conformance in the areas of quality planning, performance execution, and resolution of any nonconformance. The scope of interactions includes virtually every functional area of the business, including producing plants and steel facilities. Scope of responsibility spans product quality issues as well as the quality of manufacturing and business processes. Leadership, as well as expert knowledge of these areas, is required from the Supplier Quality Development Lead. Responsibilities:
Direct interaction with OEMs as Tier 1 Quality Representative for Metallus
Lead domestic OEM customer-specific APQP functions and risk management initiatives to ensure Metallus and suppliers are prepared for flawless product launches and ongoing production, including Feasibility Reviews, FMEA and Control Plan development, capability analysis, MSA, capacity, system assessments, and mistake/error proofing evaluation, and other actions as needed. Lead supplier PPAP activities, approve and submit PPAPs to document process information and capability.
Lead supplier development initiatives and perform audits to identify risks and ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements. Develop and monitor supplier action plans to improve quality and customer satisfaction. Work with suppliers to prepare quality documentation.
Leading resolution of quality issues through supplier coaching, problem-solving, validation of root cause, and verification of corrective actions. Review and approve supplier problem resolution information and submit required documentation to customers by required deadlines to maintain good standing/ability to bid per customer requirements. Represent Metallus during customer meetings.
Use analytical skills, objective data, and information from internal and external sources to identify opportunities for improving quality, cost, and service. Monitor supplier quality metrics and use problem-solving and supplier development skills to enhance performance (examples include SPC, Fishbone and 5 Why analysis, Pareto charts, benchmarking, lean Six Sigma principles, lessons learned, etc.).
Resolve raw material issues with suppliers and customers
Support sales growth by ensuring all customer quality bid eligibility metrics are in good standing.
