Provide expert guidance, recommendations, and architectural best practices for the database platforms. Understand existing architecture and solution deployment. Evaluate business demands against existing and future needs and recommend best solution or alternative. Manage the partner relationship between BD and IT service providers including, but not limited to, HCL, Capgemini, TCS, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft and Opentext. Participate and coordinate validations and audit compliance requirements for all database platforms. Build and maintain database hardening standards based on industry recognized security benchmarks and internal information security standards. Enforce a discipline focused on adhering to change control, patch management, information security standards and procedures, including a proactive and organized documentation approach to all these aspects. Participate and support the release cycle and project implementation activities throughout the year. Enforce software release management and “up-to-date” platform approach for database solutions and technologies. Provide guidance on database licenses for new installations, expansions, hardware replacements, etc. Provide recommendations for more efficient use of existing licenses via consolidations, cloud migrations, decommissions, etc. Mentor and guide junior members in the organization. Enforce a discipline where capacity planning, monitoring, troubleshooting and problem-solving are consistently applied following ITIL and leveraging Service integration and Management SIAM practices. Maintain database Configuration Items in the Configuration Management Database and database to server and application mappings. Ensure all database CIs have a defined Support Group. Engage and coordinate with system administration and application development teams in all implementation and support matters. Platform health management: Platform management, forecast and optimizations. 100% telecommuting role. Reports to company headquarters in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Can work remotely or telecommute.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field of study and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. Must have demonstrated experience with: Oracle and SQL technology platforms; Database platforms (DB2, MaxDB and Postgres); Oracle Cloud infrastructure (OCI) administration; Practical understanding of the ITIL framework including service, change, incident, problem and asset management; Microsoft Azure cloud as a platform for SQL delivery; Data integrity, security and compliance with Audit and other regulatory requirements; and Process validation and regulatory requirements for FDA regulated industries, including IQ, OQ and PQ.
Salary offered for the position is: $185,273.00 - $189,100.00/year.
