Job description

Compensation: $83,000 - $110,000 per year. You are eligible for a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 5% of your annual earnings; terms and conditions apply.

DevOps Engineer I – Remote, USA

This role is responsible for assisting in the development, deployment, and maintenance of applications and infrastructure using DevOps principles and practices. The DevOps Engineer 1 works closely with development teams to streamline the software delivery process and ensure the reliability and scalability of applications. 

Essential Functions 

  • Assist in the deployment and maintenance of containerized applications using Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Docker Swarm, and ECS 
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using tools like AWS CodePipeline and Bamboo
  • Support the management of code repositories using tools like BitBucket and GitHub 
  • Assist in the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation and Terraform 
  • Participate in the configuration and management of messaging systems like RabbitMQ and Kafka 
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve issues related to application deployment and infrastructure
  • Contribute to the documentation of processes, procedures, and best practices related to DevOps practices 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience 
  • 1+ years of experience in DevOps, software development, or system administration 
  • Basic knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker Swarm, ECS) 
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins) 
  • Understanding of code repositories (e.g., BitBucket, GitHub) 
  • Basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform) 
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

Preferred 

  • Experience with messaging systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka 
  • Familiarity with AWS services and best practices 
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
