Job description

ROLE SUMMARY

As the US Medical Director for tick-borne vaccines, the incumbent will support the US Medical Affairs Lead for tick-borne vaccines in developing and executing strategic medical and scientific activities. The role requires experience in designing, evaluating, interpreting, summarizing, and presenting real-world evidence, as well as proficiency with data visualization and presentation tools to convey complex analyses into meaningful insights. Additionally, the incumbent will create medical content and deliver presentations, webinars, and other communication formats as required.

The incumbent will collaborate with the asset lead and engage with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to enhance awareness, support strategy, and research efforts related to Lyme Disease.

This position provides experience in the field of tick-borne infection prevention and the opportunity to work on a complex brand for Pfizer.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

As the US Medical Director, Tick-borne Vaccines, the incumbent will be responsible for executing US medical affairs activities. Examples of what this will entail includes:

  • Develop and execute a medical education and dissemination strategy in collaboration with cross-functional partners: Provide vaccine medical expertise and support on behalf of the US Medical Affairs team to cross-functional partners

  • Partner with cross-functional teams and provide medical expertise to support interpretation and dissemination of epidemiologic/scientific data and resources

  • Support alignment across teams on society engagements, congresses, and funded resources

  • Partner cross-functionally within the medical team to ensure alignment of KOL activities, gather feedback, and provide input into strategy development and execution

  • Partner cross-functionally to support strategy on equitable access and awareness of tick-borne vaccination

  • Ensure compliance with all Pfizer policies

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • MD + 3 years experience (board certified in infectious diseases preferred) or PhD in infectious disease epidemiology or closely related field + 6+ years experience with additional research training in infectious disease, public health, epidemiology, or close-related field.

  • Experience in vaccines, infectious diseases, epidemiology, and public health

  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, and proven track record of delivering high quality within timelines.

  • Clinical, formulary, and/or other management experience

  • Managed Care, pharmaceutical industry, and/or Quality Improvement

  • Data Analytics and/or HEOR activities, with demonstrated strong methodological skills (study design, data analysis, and interpretation) in health services research

  • Demonstrate a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers and create business impact

  • Demonstrated track record of high performance and excellence.

  • Ability to analyze, define, and convey complex concepts.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Well-organized with the ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands, and effectively lead in a matrix organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical industry

  • Experience analyzing healthcare data

  • Understanding of the complex business environment within the US healthcare system as well as emerging healthcare trends

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel: approximately ~20%

  • Attendance at internal business unit medical and commercial meetings, congresses and observation of external medical interactions with colleagues, as necessary.
