Job description

Labcorp is seeking a strategic and visionary leader for the Director, Consumer Services- Strategy role who will drive consumer strategy and shape early-stage ideas and capabilities within our Consumer Services division. This role will be instrumental in defining and developing innovative solutions, translating business needs into actionable strategies, and guiding a high-performing team to execution.

As the leader of this function, you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, prioritizing strategic initiatives, and fostering partnerships that enhance our consumer offerings. Your expertise in healthcare, digital services, and consumer products will be critical in building scalable solutions that align with market trends and business goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability (Direct or Matrixed team)
  • Develop talent (Direct or Matrixed team)
  • Identify and bring on talent as services and revenue grow


Enable Action

  • Guide teams to solve new challenges through collaboration and leadership
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to create synergies and make progress
  • Make decisions once information and risks are understood
  • Possess a curiosity to listen and understand perspectives within and outside of Labcorp to define strategies that benefit the company and team
  • Effectively navigate the company's matrix management structure to promote efficient cross-functional teamwork
  • Make decisions that benefit both the Labcorp consumer business and Labcorp


Product & Services Strategy

  • Analyze industry trends, customer needs, competitive threats and expansion opportunities.
  • May prioritizes the digital, new channel, new test/products and early-stage capabilities roadmap based on the performance and feedback of the OnDemand products and services, using data and insights to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Prioritizes the roadmap based on multiple factors including customer need, market opportunity, strategic rationale and ability to deliver.
  • Identify additional growth opportunities to add to the Consumer business
  • Regularly evaluates the competitive landscape to inform roadmap
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends, developments, and best practices in the lab, healthcare industries and digital services industries ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards


Partner and Ecosystem Strategy

  • Deeply understands and stays abreast of the rapidly changing ecosystems (digital and healthcare) across different models and methods of deliver.
  • Creatively solutions to build long-lasting mutually beneficial partnerships across product, marketing and technology

Minimum Education and Experience Required: 

  • At least 10 years of experience in the healthcare and consumer products industries, with a proven track record of bringing new products, services, and strategic partnerships to market 


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing strategic plans, roadmaps, and initiatives in a consumer and/or healthcare business, with the ability to align and communicate the vision and goals across the organization
  • Proven record of driving growth and scale in an early-stage business
  • Experience defining, leading and growing new capabilities and services inside of a large enterprise
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, defining opportunities with limited information and making informed decisions
  • Experience in a consumer health business with a deep understanding of consumer behavior, preferences, and expectations in the rapidly changing healthcare space
  • Extensive experience in managing P&L budget, and financial operations, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Extensive experience in product development and management in a science-driven healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with navigating and making progress in a larger, matrixed organization
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a diverse and talented team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence at all levels, both internally and externally
  • A passion for health and wellness, and a commitment to deliver high-quality and innovative solutions that enhance the lives of our consumers

Application Window: Open through 4/7/25

Pay Range: $140,000 - $180,000/year plus yearly bonus

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. 

The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan.  Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers.

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.  Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.  For more detailed information, please click here
