Virtualization Engineer - End User Technology (remote)

What you will do
Johnson Controls seeking a highly organized and experienced Virtualization Engineer – End User Technology, to join our End User Technology team. The ideal candidate will oversee the daily operations of the End User Technology (EUT) team, ensuring the efficient delivery of IT services and support to end-users. This role involves managing a team of IT professionals, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and implementing best practices to enhance the overall user experience. This is a remote position based in the US. Candidates must be US citizens. 
 

How you will do it 

• Supervise and lead the EUT operations team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of end-user technology devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and virtual platforms.

• Ensure timely resolution of hardware and software issues, providing advanced technical support when necessary.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement EUT strategies, policies, and procedures.

• Monitor and optimize EUT infrastructure, including resource allocation, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

• Implement and maintain security protocols and compliance standards for end-user devices.

• Develop and maintain documentation for EUT configurations, processes, and procedures.

• Conduct regular assessments and audits of EUT environments to identify and address potential issues.

• Provide excellent customer service and support to end-users, ensuring a positive user experience.

What you will need
Required 

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in end-user computing support or a similar role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership position.

• Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as mobile device management (MDM) solutions such as Microsoft Intune.

• US Citizenship

Preferred 

• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Citrix, Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop, and Windows 365.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator.

• Associate / Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate)Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation tasks.

• Understanding of network fundamentals and troubleshooting.
