Job description

Project Type:

  • Work Type: Remote
  • Location: Only European Union (Remote Work)

  • Duration: Minimum 12 months (preferably 24 months)
  • Contract B2B, rates 170-200 PLN/H depending on the candidates experience
  • Team Size: Currently about 12 FTE (4 cloud engineers, 3 data engineers, 5 analytics engineers)
  • Working Hours: 09:00 – 17:00 (NL time zone)
  • Language: English
  • Travel Requirements: Preferably on-site meetings once a month (negotiable)

Client Description:

Our client is a leading Dutch company specializing in the distribution of food and non-food products to businesses, including restaurants, catering companies, and supermarkets.

We have set up a new data platform for the client and are creating a common data model as a foundation for their AI/DS use cases.

Daily Challenges:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and a state-of-the-art lakehouse within Google Cloud.
  • Managing and optimizing robust data models.
  • Developing efficient ELT processes using DBT and Fivetran to collect, transform, and load data from various sources.
  • Collaborating with data scientists and analysts to generate valuable data-driven insights.
  • Ensuring well-structured, accessible datasets that support the analytics team.
  • Safeguarding data integrity by implementing solid validation processes.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to data integration and processing.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest innovations in Google Cloud, data engineering, and analytics.

Experience & Competencies Required:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or a similar role, preferably in a Google Cloud environment.
  • A Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certificate or similar certification (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Expertise in data warehouses, ETL processes, and tools such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, DBT, SQL, and Python.
  • Experience with data modeling, Data Vault, database design, and query optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
  • Fluent in English (B2/C1/C2).
  • Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into valuable data solutions.
