As a senior communications specialist within the Communications team, you’ll develop communications strategies to engage our 65,000+ employees. You’ll work with partners across the business and our Marketing organization to build strong working relationships to accomplish this. As a strategic thinker and problem solver, you’ll support your customer groups across Progressive to help communicate and promote their messaging using the most effective approaches as determined by your guidance and expertise to support our company culture. You’ll have a strong focus on writing internal communications including content for our SharePoint-based intranet and companywide emails. You’ll also support senior leadership messaging and talking points for videos. Additionally, you’ll help lead employee engagement efforts tied to company milestones and annual celebrations.

This is a remote position, however, candidates must reside in the Cleveland, Ohio area, to be considered.

Must-have Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED equivalent or higher and a minimum of seven years of professional experience in Communications or related field (i.e. Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Promotions, Customer Service, and/or Public Relations)
  • {OR} Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications or related field (i.e. English Literature, Journalism, Media Studies or Communication Sciences) and a minimum of four years professional experience in Communications or related field (i.e. Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Promotions, Customer Service, and/or Public Relations)

Preferred Skills

  • Internal communications experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively, apply creative feedback, and work against deadlines to deliver quality communications
  • Experience working in a large organization and leading broad scale internal projects and campaigns
  • High proficiency in multi-faceted communications writing and planning including intranet content and articles, executive emails, and talking points which often requires the ability to distill complex topics to make them approachable for a broader audience
  • Approach projects with a solution-oriented outlook and experience managing large-scale projects

Compensation

  • $72,100 - $96,100/year
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
